Easy Homemade Hummus

What makes this easy homemade hummus healthy?

Hummus is made with the goodness of chickpeas. Chickpeas contain all 9 essential amino acids (a complete protein) and are packed full of Vitamins A, E and C, and fibre. They also contain lots of folate, magnesium, potassium and iron. Tahini, one of the other ingredients, is rich in protein, fibre, copper, selenium and phosphorus. Ingredients:

2 tbsp Tahini & 3.5 tsp olive oil.

1¼ c. chick peas,

1/2 clove garlic,

3.25 tsp lemon

2 tbsp water.

In a food processor or blender, add the chickpeas, garlic, lemon and water. Process or pulse these ingredients until almost smooth. Add the Tahini, then blend until the hummus is smooth.

Spoon into a container with a lid and refrigerate for about an hour. This will allow the flavours to combine well.

Once you are ready to enjoy your easy homemade hummus, spoon into a dish, sprinkle with paprika & drizzle with olive oil.
